Information Technology
InterWest's IT investing team is made up of individuals with long-standing records of success as entrepreneurs or investors - or both. Together we offer time-proven experience in software, computing and communications infrastructure, semiconductors, and wireless technology. Working with our portfolio companies, we are also helping to define success in emerging markets, including: software as a service (SaaS), advertising and marketing innovation, and mobility. We're looking to back early-stage companies with ROI-based value propositions.

Life Sciences
Members of InterWest's life sciences investing team bring to their companies experience as clinicians, entrepreneurs, researchers and investors. We have a decades-long track record of successfully working with entrepreneurs in several key areas, including: cardiovascular health, oncology and immunology, infectious diseases and vaccines, ophthalmology, pain and CNS, and orthopedics. We also lead initiatives in emerging markets and technologies, including: consumer-driven healthcare, neuromodulation, drug-device convergence, incisionless surgery, and targeted therapies and biomarkers. Typically, we look to invest in early-stage companies with expedited development strategies. The life sciences group often works on new investments in teams and frequently supports new ventures with the domain and operating expertise of our entrepreneurs in residence and Scientific Advisory Board.

Finance and Administration
The mission of the finance and administration team is to provide a wide range of high quality, reliable and seamless "back office" services to InterWest's investing partners and limited partners. We have extensive experience in finance, accounting, operations, and investor relations. The team has been recognized at the industry's most senior levels for its leadership in providing clear, concise and transparent reporting to its limited partners. We are actively engaged in the legislative, regulatory, and reporting issues that will define the future of venture capital. InterWest is represented on the NVCA's board of directors, the IPEV Board, PEIGG, FASB's Small Business Advisory Committee, and the NVCA's CFO Task Force.

Advisory Committee
