Khaled Nasr focuses on investments in the data center and communications sectors, including systems, software and semiconductors. Since joining InterWest, Nasr has led investments and joined the board of Terawave Communications, a leading passive optical networking (PON) systems provider, and Gear6, a provider of storage acceleration appliances to enterprise data centers.
From 2000 through 2005, Nasr was investing in information technology companies for Alta Partners. Prior to that, Nasr spent 16 years with start-ups in the networking and telecommunications industries. Nasr was president and chief executive officer of FlowWise Networks. He also served as general manager and vice president at Ipsilon Networks, the IP switching pioneer. Prior to Ipsilon, Nasr served as chief operating officer at Advanced Computer Communications (ACC), a leading manufacturer of access routers and remote access servers, and as vice president of marketing and services with Premisys Communications, a leading provider of Integrated Access solutions. From 1987 to 1992, Nasr served as vice president of network services with Newbridge Networks. Nasr sits on the board of directors of Netli, Xelerated, Aegis Lightwave and RedShift Systems.
Nasr holds B.A. and M.A. in mathematics and social and political sciences from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
