Follica
Boston's Follica Inc., a developer of therapies for androgenetic alopecia and other hair follicle disorders, has closed an $11 million Series B financing. Polaris Venture Partners of Waltham, Mass., led the financing, joined by existing investors InterWest Partners of Menlo Park, Calif., and PureTech Ventures of Boston. Androgenetic alopecia is male and female pattern hair loss. Unlike available treatments that attempt to retain or reactivate existing follicles, the company's technology has the potential to stimulate entirely new hair follicles.
