Calypso Medical Gets $50 Million Injection

Calypso Medical Technologies Inc., a developer of real-time localization technology used for the tracking of tumor targets, has raised $50 million in fifth-round funding.
The financing was led by Skyline Ventures and Frazier Healthcare Ventures, with participation from previous investors Bay City Capital and InterWest Partners.
The Seattle-based company, whose funding total to date comes to nearly $175 million, said it plans to put the fresh capital towards domestic and international commercial expansion.
