Eiger BioPharmaceuticals adds to board

Hepatitis treatment company Eiger BioPharmaceuticals Inc. put Paul Truex, who started and leads Anthera Pharmaceuticals, on its board of directors.
Palo Alto-based Eiger seeks antiviral treatments, particularly one aimed at Hepatitis C.
Truex started Anthera Pharmaceuticals, based in Hayward, and is its president and CEO. In the past he started and led Peninsula Pharmaceuticals, which was later sold to Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ).
David Cory is president and CEO of Eiger.
Other board members include CEO Cory; Jeffrey Glenn, M.D. and Edgar Engleman, M.D. — both of whom helped start Eiger — and Nina Kjellson of InterWest Partners.
