The NVCA CFO Task Force convenes leading venture capital industry CFOs, the NVCA Board of Directors and NVCA team to address the critical accounting, reporting and auditing issues in venture capital. 

During the 2016 CFO Boot Camp this September, NVCA will recognize Stephen Holmes, General Partner Emeritus at InterWest Partners, for his outstanding service and commitment to the industry through his work on the CFO Task Force. John Taylor, former Head of Research at NVCA, will present Stephen with the Industry Impact Award during the CFO Boot Camp on September 27-28 in Washington, DC. 

In its inaugural year, the Industry Impact Award will be dedicated to recognizing CFO, operations, and compliance professionals at venture firms who have provided an exceptional public service to the VC industry through the dedication of their expertise, resources and commitment to the CFO Task Force.

Stephen Holmes' contributions to the CFO Task Force
While longtime CFO and General Partner of InterWest Partners, Stephen, is known as the inspiration behind the 2003 creation of NVCA’s CFO Task Force, and one of its chief architects. He also opened important doors for NVCA with regulators, accounting firms, law firms, and international associations. As a member of important industry, FASB, and SEC committees, and as a member of the NVCA Board of Directors, he has given NVCA important visibility and credibility among many of those who influence accounting and reporting policy. He remains an active member of the SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee. Through his leadership, NVCA now has many seats at important tables.
